The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. This image was created in Darwin, in the Far North of Australia. The pearls are real (and the pearl prop is real as well). I shot this in a small anteroom directly outside an enormous safe, where the pearls were stored - US$23 million dollars worth in fact.
